Freezing is a great way to store seeds for the long haul. If you’re planning on sowing them within a few years, it’s probably not going to make a huge difference, though it couldn’t hurt. Just be sure: Only freeze seeds that are completely dry.13-Jan-2020
What seeds Cannot be frozen?
Orthodox seeds are capable of being dried to internal seed moisture of less than 12% water, stored at freezing temperatures, and surviving. Recalcitrant seeds cannot be stored in a conventional freezer as they cannot survive after drying and/or freezing at -20°C.
What happens if I plant seeds and it freezes?
If a seed is damaged by cold temperatures, drowns or dries out after germination begins it is not likely to survive and grow. Germination is directly related to moisture and temperature.
