A damaged expandable garden hose is repairable. While a patchwork tactic will work in the short term, it will likely re-tear once high pressure is forced through the tubing. A permanent solution is to break the hose and use connectors to join them back together.
Can Pocket hoses be repaired?
If your expandable / pocket hose is leaking in the middle it’s likely the inner flexible tube has a hole in it. But unlike a regular rubber hose, pocket hose cannot be patched up with a waterproof tape. You will need to do a little bit to work to get it fixed.
How do you fix a pinhole in an expandable hose?
Push the toothpick inside the garden hose to about an eighth-inch depth. Next, turn on the spigot and allow water to flow through the hose. Each time you do this, the toothpick soaks water and swells up, sealing the pinhole tightly. Cut off the extra toothpick with a sharp scissor.
